Guys I am so sorry for your loss. I had no clue his name was Averill, I always knew him as Butch. I didn't know him as much as knew of him & it was always good talk or a good story. Peace to all of you.

Rest now in the arms of our Lord your mission on earth is complete. I thank you for your service to our Country and my Freedom. You will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers to the family of .... US Army National Guard Veteran, Averill Burriss, III, is "A True American Hero" God Bless† † Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 †

I remember the pride Butch took in each of his boys as they grew up in our Rome subdivision many years ago. He was an amazing man with a personality bigger than life itself. Butch definitely touch the lives of many and has left a wonderful footprint for us. Many heartfelt condolences to his sons and family as they walk through this difficult time.

In 2000 Fairland Senior League Baseball team won the district and the team and parents loaded up and headed to Ashtabula, OH to compete. Although we never won a single game, everyone had a wonderful time and mostly because of Butch! He kept the whole group in stitches with his hilarious antics! We will miss you Butch! Our heartfelt sympathy for his family! Delores & Tony Paragon

I'm so sorry to hear of Butch's passing. I enjoyed our many conversations at Tri State Ice Arena and Huntington Blizzard hockey games. He was always there for his sons who played in our hockey league. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. They have lost a wonderful and caring person.
