I met Brenda through rescue. She had a no-nonsense, get-the-job-done approach. I was confident in her hands whatever was asked of her would be accomplished. She transported probably 1,000 animals to a better future, gave a hospice dog the best months of his life, and even dog-sat my feisty dog.
Brenda was genuine. You knew where you stood with her. She was my friend. I have been at a loss all day looking at pictures and remembering stories. I know she's probably looking down at me telling me to get a grip, and that sense of her makes me laugh in a good way. I hope she knows how much I loved her and that I will miss her. I know her dogs are glad to be reunited with her, and I promise Idgie will always be well taken care of. Keep an eye on Betty for me, Brenda. One day we will have soup and beer together again, and you won't have to worry about the salt content. Love you friend.
