I'm saddened by the loss of Maida. My mother loved her dearly. I have fond memories of Maida at Defender Church and teaching bible school and teaching me the words to B.I.B.L.E! I can still picture her teaching my kids at bible school. She would make Zack laugh. My prayers and thoughts are with you all!

My Grandmother, Jean Rogers, attended Defender United Methodist Church for several years. I was just a young boy when I was first introduced to beloved Ms Maida. I was fortunate enough to have Maida as my Sunday School teacher. Some of my most fond memories of Defender include Maida. Maida's smile, loving personality, her humor, kindness, and generosity made an impression on my life that I carry to this day. I love that no matter where you would see her, she would stop what she was doing to say hello. Maida was a bright and beautiful light. I am sorry to hear of her passing. I pray God blesses the family in their time of mourning.
