I loved Uncle Mase. I am Raymond Michael Smith, great-nephew and first cousin twice removed through his mother, Idella Napier, daughter of William Albert Napier. Uncle Mase was my mentor and one of the wisest men I ever knew. His wisdom and guidance was extraordinary. I will never forget my last conversation with him, in which he explained LIFE as being like a beautiful flower that blooms and then fades away. I will always cherish my memories of you. Thank you for always being there for me and for instilling God in my life. Your longing for your mother is over and you are now once again in her loving arms forever.

I loved Uncle Mason. I am Sally Mills, granddaughter of Mason's brother Howard. I loved visiting his house as a child. My mother and I last visited him in September and I'm so glad that we did. He still had the distinctive cadence to his voice and a ready laugh.
To the family, Sorry to read about the passing of Mason but he certainly lived a long life more than most. May you find comfort in knowing one day you will meet again. Mason has ended his journey here on Earth but started a new adventure in Heaven. RIP Mason......
