An obituary leaves out so much... \r\n\r\nIt barely scratches the surface of the good Man my Uncle Paul is. \r\n\r\nWithout hesitation I can say that he was a father figure to me during some less than awesome times of my life. I know - I know - He's not really old enough to be my Dad, maybe the ornery big brother I never had! :) It's the same kinda thing. He was quick witted and funny, and kind. \r\n\r\nI am trying to think of good times and there were many: Not counting all the “normal” car issues… He not once, but twice, helped me just have any car at all (along with Uncle Larry.) These guys helped me with two super vehicles: (The super awesome 1963/1969 Oldsmo-Buick, and the 1970's-something Toyo-Datson!!!!) \r\n\r\nWe (mostly they) bolted, welded, and torched these Franken-cars together out in the Pine Holler Garage. The Oldsmo-Buick is still my favorite car of all time. I spent so much time in that garage with those guys (who probably wished I was ANYPLACE else!) Good times - that I won’t ever forget or stop being thankful for. Uncle Paul liked working on and restoring older cars, and it was always cool to see them running again and get to take a ride. \r\n And there were shenanigans! Haha. If you do not know the story: Ask me about the “Deer Hunter” someday when you need a laugh… And guess who bought me my first bottle of “Mad Dog 2/20”??? Yes, it was also my last bottle… Valuable lesson learned… :) \r\n\r\nI’m sorry that I will never be able to repay the kindness he showed me, and I’m sure I am not alone. I am praying for Aunt Teresa, and Paula, and P.J. I hope you can get through and remember good times with a smile and a laugh some day.\r\n\r\nLove you Uncle Paul. Call me silly all you want! Love ya anyway!
I am so sorry to hear of Paul’s passing. I went to school with Paul and he was such a good guy. Prayers for his family.
