Dick was Gene's best man at our wedding in 1955. He was such a nice person. Our thoughts and prayers for your family. Rachel Gilbert and family,

Dick and I met in 1966 when I was a Splicers Helper at Ohio Bell. He was great to work for and certainly was a talented person. I also worked with Dick in the engineering department. It was always a pleasure getting to see him at luncheons he attended after he retired.

I have so many memories of Dick, but I will only share the following. When I began working in the Engineering Dept. of Ohio Bell he was my Engineer and I was his Draft-person. He was a great teacher and he taught me so much, which lead me to my 31 year career as an Engineer with Ohio Bell (at the time) now AT&T. What I will remember the most probably, is his pipe smoking! Never was he without his pipes. That was his signature. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
