Virginia Mae Corns

Every once in a while, we come across a soul so special, one we feel we can cling to. One we feel at home with. This was Virginia "Ginnie" Mae Corns... Wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was not only the light in our lives, but the glue of our family. She always made sure we knew how important family was. She taught us all single-handedly how to crawl, how to walk, talk, and say, 'hell's fire' and 'oh shit'. She taught us unconditional love in her actions and told you when you were wrong. She was brutally honest, compassionate, heartfelt, and witty. She always made sure her family knew she loved them through their rights and wrongs. No matter what, you could always come home... and that's what she was, our home. She was the doting mother whose heartbeat was for her children. The grandmother's hug who never missed a birthday, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. A woman who never needed to say 'bye' because she knew she was going to see you later. A woman who knew without a doubt that her glorious God would one day reunite her with her family in His almighty kingdom of Heaven and that they would be waiting for her at those Pearly Gates. The first she will see is her late husband Carl 'hotdog' Junior Corns. And what a joyful day that will be. Waiting with him, their son and daughter, Ronnie 'hotdog' Corns and Martha 'Farfy' Brown. Her mother and father, Lon and Emma Collins. Her brothers and sisters, Virgil, Curtis, Roy, Ralph, Louis, Joanne, and Carrie. And last but not least, her two special grandsons, Brad Perry and Shane Corns. She is survived by her children and children-in-law, Penny Bailey, Bill and Corky Perry, Wilmer and Toni Asbury, Marsha Brumfield, Rick and Kathy Wellman, and Mike and Susanna Corns. By her grandchildren, Jim and Becky Bailey, Tammy Lowery, Howie and Amy Bailey, Billy Perry, Justin and Candy Adkins, Jeremy and Stacy Carpenter, Chris and Cathy Wellman, Ronnie 'Lil Ron' Corns, Jimmie and Missy Hardy, and Matt Johnson and Stacy Thompson. The same Stacy who cared for our beloved mother and grandmother for five years while she struggled with dementia. The family and I cannot thank you enough, from the bottom of our hearts. Her daughters and family would also like to recognize Missy Hardy, Meghan Parsons, Hunter Hardy, and Stacy Carpenter for their compassionate care of their mother in her final resting days. Virginia Mae Corns is also survived by 55 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also, her very special 'boyfriend' Lupe SValencia (of West Tenampa). She may have loved her many boyfriends, but what she loved even more was taming squirrels and feeding birds. Doing things like wearing lipstick in the shade of Berry Kiss. Bingo nights at the campground with her friends Jim, Ricky, Lonnie, and Wayne. She was a lifelong collector of dolls, marbles, rocks, and trinkets. And her most favorite thing of all, tending her rose bushes. She was a unique woman with many interesting hobbies like word searches, puzzles, poker and card games. She was a one-of-a-kind woman and will be missed by so very many people. Her kind words of wisdom will forever live on in all of us.I just know on that Saturday October 19th, at 11:14 am, she gained her angel wings. On that day of her departure, sleeping peacefully in her bed, surrounded by her family, she returned home to the Lords awaiting arms and what a glorious day that was. The family would like to recognize pastor Jim Wells and Angel Fry for all of their help and prayers during these hard times. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 12:00 P.M.
