William Harvey Black

William "Billy" Black, 62, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully after a long battle with heart disease on June 30th, 2024. He was surrounded by his family at KDMC in Ashland, KY. Billy was a beloved son, father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. Entering Heaven, Billy joined his wife, Robin Black; father, Gary Black Sr., and stepfather, William "Bill" Lincoln. Billy is survived by his loving family that includes his mother, Sandy Lincoln; daughters, Emily Williams (Nick), and Katie Flynn (Darrell); stepchildren,Tim Neil (Kambria), and Tanya Stockeland; brother, Gary "Spike" Black Jr. (Brenda), and sister, Denise Black-Kilgore (Ron). Billy cherished his 13 grandchildren, Peyton, Paxton, Parker, Pryce, and Preston Williams, Hollie Slone, Avarie Cook, Lily, Dilhia, Levi and Isla Neil, Madison, and Logan Stockeland; lifelong friend, Donna Smith Black, with whom he shared his two daughters. Billy was the owner and operator of Bill Black Trucking from where he recently retired. He had an extremely kind and generous way about him. He could fix anything mechanical, give you directions to anywhere you wanted to go, and tell you the best places to eat along the way. He loved his family, camping, fishing, football, cruising, and trucking. In his last months, Billy shared many stories and fond memories with his family and friends. His mind, sense of humor, and love for life, never failed him even when his body had. Billy left behind a wonderful legacy and will be forever missed by his family and friends. We look forward to the day we will once again be joined with Billy in Heaven. A Celebration of Life will be held for both Billy and Robin Black at Spring Valley Freedom Baptist, 1600 Spring Valley Drive, Huntington, WV, at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday July 13, 2024, with Rev. Gary Graves, officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M, one hour prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saint Jude's Children;s Hospital. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements.
