To the family of Curtis R. Miller... Years ago, I had the opportunity to meet Curt when the company I was working for went out of business. My next door neighbor (Mr. Charles Miller--don't think he and Curt were related) told me to go talk with Curt and put in my application to work at H. K. Porter. I think my neighbor mentioned to Curt that I would be coming in. He hired me right away and to this day, my wife and I talk about what a kind and considerate person Curt was. I'm sure if you could ask him about this, he would say he didn't regret hiring me because I always tried to do as good a job as possible to show my appreciation for his faith in me. In fact, he made sure I was on day shift at one period of time, so I could bowl with him and others on the Company team; and one of his questions during my interview was 'do you bowl' My wife and I have laughed about that over the years and it is one of my fondest memories of Curt. He was missed by many, especially me, when he left. I continued to work for Connors Steel and retired in March 1995 from Steel of WV. My wife and I now live in Palm Bay, Florida and know without a doubt that we might be struggling had it not been for the kindness of Mr. Curt Miller giving me that job so long ago. I see on here that Curt was exactly one month older than me. I will never forget him, and my wife and I send OUR DEEPEST, AND SINCERE SYMPATHY to each of you in your loss.
