I met J. D. in 1997 on a mission trip in India. He was a great man of God. Afterward, I oftentimes told the story of how he led Principal Bhakto Sundar Sharma to faith in Christ. Mr. Sharma introduced the Gideon team members by name to each classroom, and told the students he had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and that the Gideons had a very important book for each of them.600 students in a predominantly Hindu school received God's Holy Word that day. I am grateful for Brother J.D.'s influence in my life.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Heaven's gain! J D was such an inspiration to me as a young Christian and mentored me as a Gideon. I'll never forget our trip to Atlanta to put out Gideon Bibles for the Olympics. We had such a fun time together while in service to the Lord! In between the Bible blitz activities, we explored civil war cemeteries and had some questionable, laughable encounters that we loved to share everytime we saw each other. I'm praying for you and your family.
