Adam Nicholas "Big Kat" Kattoua's Obituary
Adam Nicholas “Big Kat” Kattoua, 36, of Raleigh, NC, flew from our loving arms into God’s hands on May 21, 2025. Born in Columbus, OH, on December 15, 1988. Adam is survived by his parents, Saeed and Barbara Kattoua; his sister, Allie Kattoua; uncle, Saad Kattoua; aunts, Carol Tripp and Jean Duncan; cousins, Pam LaPlante, Kyle (Shane) Tripp, Billie (Todd) Ransbottom, Kevin (Kris Reinhardt Paugh) Duncan, and several extended family members. Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ali Kattoua and Zarifa Abo-Ghalune; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Crystal Duncan, and uncles, Alton Tripp and Bill Duncan. Adam was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School, Upper Arlington, Ohio and Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio. Adam followed all sports, but his love was football, playing on both his high school and University teams. He was an avid Boy Scout and received his Eagle Scout Honor in 2007. After college, he began working with Fortitude Systems, Inc., first as a sales consultant and later progressed to Company Operations Manager and Strategic Process Analysis. He loved golf, Ohio State Football, Columbus Blue Jackets, reading, concerts, travel, and his football brotherhood. He was always learning and trying new things, latest of which, was cooking. Most of all, he loved his two lifelong friends who survive him, Adam Ansel and Daniel Gaines. Both Adam and Daniel have lovely families which Adam “Big Kat” loved as his own and became known as Uncle Kat and uncle Kitty Kat to their children. If you met Adam, you were met with a smile and a handshake or a hug. Always funny and fun-loving and ready to help in any way he could. Adam will be sorely missed by many friends and family and will be honored with a memorial service at a later date in Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice, the Boy Scouts of America, a Suicide Prevention Agency or join a donor program and become a bone marrow donor. The family would like to thank Joey Phillips, friend and co-worker; Eric Anderson, friend, and all the people who helped and supported us at this time. Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at schneiderhallfuneralhome.com
