Albert Baker's Obituary
Albert Baker, 90, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away in his home on Tuesday December 7, 2021. He was born on November 20, 1931, to the late Walter C. Baker and Gracie Harless Baker in Wayne, West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his six brothers and sisters, Raymond (Evelyn) Baker, Floyd (Virgie) Baker, Bill Baker, Lavella (Herman) Moore, Louella (French) Napier, and Roberta (Zach) Bills, and stepdaughter Tina Price. Albert is survived by his loving wife Peggy Joyce Baker; two sons Daniel (Risa) Baker and Terry Baker; three grandchildren Rebecca Clarr, Danny Baker, and Mary Rambo; four great grandchildren Elizabeth Annalece, Josh, and Andrew; three stepdaughters Cynthia Jones, Tammy (Bubby) Jordan and Debbie Butcher; seven step grandchildren Nick Jones, Morgan Butcher, Danielle and Zach Jordan, Dimitri, Valdimir, and Maksim Price; and six step great grandchildren. He graduated from Barboursville High School in 1948. Albert worked at the Perry Norvell Shoe Company and American Car and Foundry. He retired from Gallagher Ford after 44 years, 25 of those he was the parts manager. Albert served in the Army as Tech-Sargent in Korea and was a life member of the Proctorville VFW Post 6878 where served as a Post Commander and organized 20 golf tournaments as fundraisers for the organization. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #536 of Crown City, Ohio, American Legion Post 16, and DAV-Kenova. Albert was also a faithful member and usher for First Baptist Church of Proctorville, Ohio. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio with Ministers Daniel Baker, Lucian Baker and Chaplain (LTC) Joe Ward. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at ehallfuneralhome.com.
