Alberta Jean Wilson's Obituary
Alberta Jean Wilson, 67, of WV, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 26, 2024, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was a graduate of Logan High School and WVJC. Alberta was born in Logan, WV, the daughter of Oliver Neal Wilson and Margaret H. Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jessie James "JJ" Wilson and brother-in-law, Edmond Hornbuckle. Alberta is survived by her children, Leslie Neal Wilson of WV, and Toi Keira Wilson of FL; sisters, G. Joann (Lonnie) Felters of MD, and Jennetta Hornbuckle of WV; sister-in-law, Janice Wilson of PA; god children, LaShari Glover and Antwon Williams; grandchildren, Christopher, Jordan, Logan, Caden, and Deja Wilson, A'Breka, Orlando, and Joseph Williams, Quintheta and Kyra Lowery; nieces and nephews, Jay, Angel, Tracey, Terry, Scott, Stephen, TeNaya, Anton, Dawn, and Jessie (Lil "JJ"). Alberta was a dental Hygienist and worked in the medical field for many years before she began working for Walmart where she was employed for over 15 years. She never met a stranger and loved with such an open heart. Her jovial laugh and warm smile were contagious, and her ability to brighten a room with just an entrance will truly be missed. Over the years, she fostered many children. She helped them to graduate and start their own lives. She was warmly known as "Momma Bert" and she loved ALL of her children. Her love of books, music, and animals brought great joy to her life. She loved her coffee and siting on the porch. Bert was also an avid crocheter but laughing with her children was her favorite thing to do. She will also be missed by her fur baby, Bandit E. Wilson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, with Elder George Scott officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington, WV.
