Alice Sowards 1946 - 2017
Alice Sowards, 70, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Monday May 1, 2017 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born September 1, 1946 in Huntington, WV to the late Virgil and Nesebeth Rowe Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five siblings. Alice was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Medical Center for many years. She is survived by her husband Gary Sowards, Sr; three sons Tracey (Melinda) Sowards of Barboursville, WV, Jack (Tammy) Sowards of Proctorville, and Gary (Trena) Sowards of Proctorville; one daughter Nesebeth Ann (Lee) Spires of Proctorville; nine grandchildren; Jessica, Jillian, Trevor, Casey, Amanda, Nathan, Tanner, Kyle, and Reilly; two great grandchildren Kennedi and Kolton; two sisters Barbara Taylor of Chesapeake and Linda Kuhn of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday May 5, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio by Pastor Randy Henderson. Burial will follow in Mt. Mariah Cemetery, Hurricane, WV. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 4, 2017 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
