Alpheus James Figg's Obituary
Alpheus James “Aljay” Figg was born May 26, 1968, in Huntington, West Virginia to his parents, of Kermit Leondhi Figg and Lottie Pearl Rucker. He passed from this life to be with the Lord on September 1, 2025.
He acquired his formal education through Cabell County Public Schools system. After completing school, he gained employment in construction as a licensed electrician. Aljay was a licensed barber as well. He studied and was engaged in the Sunni Islam sect for an extended period of time. Hobbies that he enjoyed included playing chess and dominoes. The brother also took pride in his culinary skills, producing his special home cooked dishes.
Alpheus was preceded in death by both parents, Kermit and Lottie, paternal grandparents, Charles Kermit Woolfolk and Esther Figg Wilson; maternal grandparents, George Rucker and Ossie L. Cabell Myers; his brother Kermit Leondhi Figg, Jr., and great nephew, Jae`-son Hill. Beloved family left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Heather Dawn Figg and his children, Ricardo Farrow (Ann) of Wheeling, West Virginia; D’Atra Figg of Huntington; JayDawn Figg of Columbus, Ohio; Jayla Figg, Huntington, Elijah Figg, Huntington, Alpheus Figg, Columbus, Ohio, and Jamar and Tanean Ramsey of Columbus, Ohio. Also, left to embrace fond memories of him are his brothers and sisters, Rebecca Collins of Toledo, Ohio; Michael Figg (Mark) of Huntington; Leondhi Dawn Houchins (James), Columbus, Ohio; Louise Robenette Figg (Terry), Columbus, Ohio; Melissa Hope Figg (Norman), Columbus, Ohio; Sidney Figg (Sheree), Huntington, and Troy Cochran, Huntington. In addition are his grandchildren, Rhianna, Julianna, Emmanuel (Farrow), Emmanuella Figg, Ali, Naija, Aysan, Howard, Kareem Powell, Kallie Figg, Kazmir Felton, E’lanei Figg, and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Aljay will be missed by all those who knew and cared for him.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Full Gospel Assembly in Huntington, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 12:00 P.M. at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com
