Anita Gail Jones' Obituary
Anita Gail Jones, 84, of Huntington, WV, entered her Heavenly home on Saturday, May 9th, 2026. She was born on October 7th, 1941, in Cabell County to the late Wilbur Andrew and Virgie Mabel Moreland Barton. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Lee Barton, Thomas Andrew Barton, and Robert Dean Barton and two sisters, Marjorie Sue Midkiff and Helen Wilma Burch, and a nephew, Billy Joe Midkiff, and a niece Debbie Hall. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Pete Jones; a son, Pete Jones; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Jay Powers; four granddaughters, McKenzie Jones, Courtney Powers, Brooke Powers, and Isabelle Jones; and three great grandchildren, Jordan, Ava, and Maddox Williamson; and nieces and nephews, Sandy (Clyde) Hypes, Sharon (Mick) Davis, Linda (Steve) Spurlock, Todd (Kristine) Burch, Karen (Stacy) Sager, Tab and Tara Barton, Kelly (Scott) Walsh, Susan (Tom) Durbin and Melissa Martin Harmon; and many more nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephew. Anita was a member of the Huntington East School Class of 1959. She retired from Equifax and went to work for WEMM 107.9 Christian radio. During this time, she loved serving the Lord and sharing the gospel with the community. She was a former member of The Chesapeake Church of the Nazarene, Beverly Hills Baptist Church, and a founding member of New Baptist Church of Huntington. She loved to walk around the church and fellowship with all the people who were special to her. She loved the Lord and has made an impact on many people in her life. As you think about her and the legacy she leaves, she wants you to know that she is with her Lord and Savior. Her wish was for all of us to meet her in Heaven and spend eternity praising God! Funeral service will be held at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, on Monday May 11, 2026, at 6:00 pm, with visitation being held one hour prior from 5:00-6:00 pm.
