Arley Ray Johnson II's Obituary
Arley Ray Johnson II, 35 of Huntington, WV went home to be with God on January 6th, 2018. The first of 5 children born to Arley Ray and Rolanda King Johnson on June 21st 1982. Arley was just simply “Ray” or “little Ray” to his loved ones. Ray grew up in the church under the leadership and teaching of the late great Pastor Martha Johnson and was saved at an early age. Ray loved God and was enthusiastic about learning and spreading the love of Christ, so much so in fact, that he would even have praise and worship at home with his siblings. Ray was later baptized in Jesus name. Over the years when Ray stumbled, he always made his way back into the house of the Lord even being rededicated on several different occasions. Ray never missed an opportunity to pull out his little orange testament bible and speak about the goodness of Jesus. Ray’s love, passion, and enthusiasm for Christ NEVER LEFT HIM. In Ray’s early years he attended Spring Hill Elementary and Cammack Middle School. Ray was a house clown and a class clown and if you were having a bad day his laugh and insanely hilarious sense of humor would absolutely brighten it. Oh that laugh, Rays laugh was one of the coolest, funniest, most unique things to ever experience. When he laughed it would make you laugh. He was one funny dude. He had a joy that permeated the room. Ray at his best was so awesome to be around. That boy told jokes for days. His sense of humor was literally on a whole other level. Just naturally quick witted and comedically gifted. He was often told that he should pursue a career in comedy. HAVE YOU EVER KNOWN ANYONE FUNNIER? Ray graduated from Huntington High School and had a short stent in the United States Army. Ray graduated from the Huntington Junior College of Business with a degree in Business Management. Ray also spent some time a Marshall University. On July 19, 2009 when Ray was 27 an article was published in the Herald Dispatch titled, “Winning his battle against drug abuse”. It chronicled Ray’s shortcomings and thoughts in his own words. He discussed his profound love and adoration for God. He displayed his courage and strength. Ray was inspirational in his own right always proclaiming his love for the Lord. Ray a son, nephew, brother, cousin, friend, uncle, and lover had a beautiful soul and a big heart. Smart, witty, FUNNY, and kind. Ray was beautiful. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Morton and Delores King. Ray is survived by his children Aiden (Huntington, WV) Amariah and Arley Ray III (Milton WV), his ex-wife and fiancé Rebecca Johnson, Fraternal grandparents Charlie Jr. and Barbara Ann Johnson (Huntington W.V.)
