Arnold Ray Floyd's Obituary
Arnold Ray Floyd, 89, of Proctorville, OH passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born May 22, 1934, in Lawrence County, OH. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Nevada Adkins Floyd; two sisters, Elizabeth South and Juanita "Blondie" Childers; two brothers, Clyde "Buck" Floyd and Carroll Floyd; also the mother of his children, Polly Butcher McGinnis.
Arnold is survived by his two children, Paula Ray Pasley and Saun (Kelly) Floyd; four grandchildren, Bethany Fuller, Shane Fuller (Whitney), Nathan Floyd and Katie (Josh) Petrie and six great grandchildren. He also leaves behind one brother, Johnny Floyd and a sister, Joan Davis.
Arnold served his country well. He was a proud US Army Veteran and retired from the Army Military Reserve. He was also a member of the Proctorville VFW Post 6878. Arnold worked as a steelworker at Inco Alloy where he retired and was a proud member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 40. Arnold lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and live music. He loved his church and he loved the Lord. Arnold adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The guys at Express Oil in Barboursville will miss Arnold just as much as he will miss them and their friendship over coffee. The Schneider-Hall Family appreciates him and his many years of services at the funeral home.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 2PM at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Ohio with Pastor Harold Hamlin officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery in Proctorville, OH. Military rites will be observed.
