Arnold A. Gould, Sr.'s Obituary
Arnold "Arnie" A. Gould Sr., 76, of Wilson, NC, formerly of Huntington, WV, gained his angel wings on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was born December 9, 1947, in Rainelle, WV, to the late George and Lula Ann Gould. He was a diesel mechanic for 57 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Eileen Gould, and his brother, George Gould. Arnold was an amazing father to Arnold Jr., James and Mary, and Beneda and Mike; papaw to Chad, William, Corey, Dylan, Cole, and Ryan; loving brother-in-law to Myrtle Cobern; loving uncle to Stanley and Kim, Charlotte, Lloyd, Allen, Darrick, Justin and Shayla, and great-uncle to many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly; he was bonus papaw to Mollie, Tyler, Malachi, Allie, Eli, Jessicca, Hannah, Leia, and Levi; bonus father to Summer McCloud and many more that called him dad, whom he loved. Arnold leaves behind special friends, Betty Smith and Vickie Winters. He was a very special person and never met a stranger. He was kind, loving, patient, compassionate, big-hearted, forgiving, gentle, helpful, honorable, nurturing, honest, thoughtful, and understanding. Arnold was the strongest man his kids and grandkids ever knew. He loved working on anything with an engine, was an avid gardener, and spent many precious hours in the woods hunting with his son and grandsons. Everyone that knew him loved him, and he will be missed dearly.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, with Mark Mayes and Tom Arthur, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Smith-Mayes Family Cemetery in Glenwood, WV. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
