Arzella Smith's Obituary
Arzella Love Smith, 76, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with our Lord and Saviour on Friday, December 23, 2016 in Wayne Continuous Care, Wayne, WV. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH at 1:00 pm with Dallas Moore and Charles Webb officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service. Arzella was born January 12, 1940 in Proctorville Ohio, a daughter of the late Everett and Emma Jean Love. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband, friend, and father of her children, Richard L. Smith, Sr. She leaves behind her daughter, Carla (James) Barager of Louisa, KY and her son, Richard L. 'Butch' Smith, Jr. of Huntington, WV. She also leaves behind four grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Whitney (John) Bowen of Cincinnati, OH, Kara Smith of Huntington, WV , Derek and Kelsey Chaffin of Proctorville, OH. Surviving siblings are Juanita Love of Proctorville, OH and Lurana (Jim) Goodwin of Portsmouth, OH, and her brothers; Buford (Norma), Chancie, and David Love, all of Proctorville, OH and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Arzella was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington, WV, where she had many friends who became her family. Their continued love and commitment thru the years brought much joy and encouragement to her life daily. She fought a long and tough road with Multiple Sclerosis but thru determined grit and faith in God she raised her family, and served The Lord with all her strength and might till the very last breath God gave her. Her home for the last 4 1/2 years was Wayne Continuous Care, where she found much love and compassion from the staff and residents there. Her family wishes to thank each and every one of the amazing staff members who treated and cared for her far above the call of duty. She loved each of you and we are grateful for her care.
