Ashley Ward's Obituary
Our beautiful Ashley Inez Ward, of Huntington, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, April 19th, 2021 at the age of 31. Ashley was born on April 27th, 1989 in Proctorville, Ohio to parents Elaine Ward and Steve Ward. Ashley loved her younger siblings, brother, Christopher Ward, and sister, Erin Ward. Ashley most recently worked at the Working Mans Store in Huntington for many years. Everyone who knew Ashley knew her fun and loving personality as well as her willingness to help anyone. She always put others first and loved to be around people. Ashley loved riding motorcycles, taking naps, watching movies, going to the beach, shooting pool, going shopping, and eating out with friends and family. Ashley was baptized in and attended New Hope United Methodist Church in Proctorville, Ohio. Ashley graduated from Fairland High School in 2007 and attended Ohio University. She was to begin attending Mountwest Community and Technical College in August of this year in hopes of getting her accounting degree. Ashley was preceded in death by her brother Christopher Ward of Proctorville, OH, her maternal grandfather Harold Fox of Montgomery, WV, and her paternal grandparents Paul and Betty Ward of Proctorville, OH. She is survived by her mother, Elaine Ward of Proctorville, OH, father Steve Ward (wife Carla Ward) of Beaufort, NC and formerly of Proctorville, OH, sister Erin Ward of South Point, OH, grandmother Sharon Fox of Proctorville, OH, great grandmother Bessie Fox of Ansted, WV, uncle Steve Fox (wife Mandy Fox) and cousins Marshall Fox, Micah Fox, and Max Fox, uncle Glen Ward of Chesapeake, OH, aunt Vicki Rosenburg of Nashville, TN, aunt Joetta Payne of Nashville, TN and cousins Macy Payne and Cory Payne. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and services will be held on Monday, April 26th at 11:00 a.m. with graveside service to follow.
