Ava Price's Obituary
Ava J. Price, 87, of South Point, OH, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 15, 2018, with loving family by her side. She was born February 9, 1931, in Yawkey, WV, to the late Gurley E. McClure and Rosa M. McClure. Ava graduated from South Point High School with honors in 1948 and was a resident of South Point until her passing. She was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God in Huntington, WV, for 23 years. Ava was preceded in death by her sister, Francis McClure of McMinnville, TN; She is survived by one brother, Garry N. McClure residing in Plaquemine, LA, and two sisters, Sharon Burden residing in Dayton, TN, and Joanna Cox residing in McMinnville, TN. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah J. McClure of South Point, OH, Dodavah L. Price of South Point, OH; her four sons, Daniel F. Price (Rebecca L. Price) of South Point, OH, Darrell D. Price (Willa Jean Price) of South Point, OH, Delynn A. Price (Anita L. Price) of Raceland, KY, Douglas N. Price (Catherine A. Price) of Wheelersburg, OH, as well as 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She will be remembered for her generosity of spirit, her love for the Lord, her many sacrifices made for her children, and concern for those in need around her. Ava's core value came from Revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the Book of Life; and the dead were judged according to what they had done as written in the books [that is, everything done while on earth]. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 2 pm Friday, October 19, 2018 followed immediately by a funeral service at 2pm at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH, with Pastor Greg Tomlinson and Pastor Rod Justice officiating. In lieu of flowers, Ava requested that donations be made to the Missions Fund of Jefferson Avenue Church of God, a ministry dear to her heart, and can be made at www.jacog.com through the online giving link, option: Missions.
