Bernard Ralph "Butch" Henson Jr.'s Obituary
Bernard Ralph “Butch” Henson, Jr., 78, of South Point, OH, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. Born on December 15, 1946, in Huntington, WV, he was the son of the late Bernard Ralph and Oakley Kemp Henson Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Henson and Gloria Jean Quick. Butch was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam conflict. He retired from Vesuvius USA in Ashland, KY, and was a member of Faith Baptist Chapel in Chesapeake, OH, where he loved to sing. His faith and church were very important to him. Butch loved drag racing, playing and collecting guitars, and enjoyed going camping with his family and friends. Butch is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Henson; children, Keith (Lisa) Henson, Lisa (Randy) Griffith, Bernard R. Henson “Skip” (Lori) Henson III, Missy (Darrell) Hall, and Melanie (Scott Mauk) Brogan; grandchildren, Donovan, Amanda M., Karissa, Amanda B., Aaron, Kayla, Amanda R., Ericha, Brendan, Tyler, and Cameron; 13 great-grandchildren; special nephew, Roger Parker, and his loving fur baby, Chase. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Burlington Greenlawn Cemetery.
