BERNICE L. RICKARD, 80, of South Point, OH, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral service will be 1 PM Friday, May 23, 2014, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Bernice was born March 28, 1934, in South Point, OH, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Nancy Freeman Butcher. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Rickard; and eight siblings. Bernice is survived by her husband, James F. Rickard; four children; Deby (Hank) Craft, Zane Rickard, Jay (Marilyn) Rickard, and Tex Rickard; her daughter-in-law, Jane Rickard; 10 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Nate DeLong, Jimmy Delong, Josh Rickard, Brady Rickard, Jane Rickard, and Hank Craft. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH.
