Betty Jo Kiogima's Obituary
Betty Jo Craft Kiogima crossed over into Heaven Monday May 30, 2022. She was 81 and lived in Proctorville, OH.
Betty Jo was born in Proctorville, OH August 27,1940 to her parents Edith Zimmerman Dyer and Herman Craft. She was bookkeeper and worked many years as a top-notch archivist of accurate numbers.
She met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Kiogima from Michigan, through her uncle and knew right away that he was to be her soulmate. They were married in 1970 and enjoyed a fun filled and gratifying life for 50 years until his passing in August 2020. They were always together and enjoyed the company of their friends and family.
One of Betty's hobbies was baking and candy making. Her White Fruitcake was a staple at Christmas time and she loved making her White Trash candy. For years they were also involved in making apple butter that was the best around. She and Bob were also avid Square Dancers for years in Michigan. She loved the people they danced with and the incredible outfits. They did it right.
Betty loved her friends and family fiercely. Although she never had children of her own, she had many "adopted" kids and grandkids. She loved camping and she and Bob spent many, many weekends camping with family and friends.
At one time, she and Bob made Dulcimer Hammers and traveled in their motorhome to the trade shows to sell their wares. They had quite the reputation for producing high quality hammers.
Upon their retirement, they moved from Michigan to Proctorville and established a full life among friends and relatives. They soon became involved with the Sybene Chesapeake Senior Center and Betty became their Treasurer. The Center was extremely important to them and she delighted in her time of preparation for events and just socializing. That was something that she was very good at, socializing! She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She was preceded in death by her partner in life, Robert "Bob" Kiogima, parents, Edith Dyer and Herman Craft, sister Ruth Craft Robinson and brother Danny Franklin Craft.
