Billy Joe Davis' Obituary
Billy Joe Davis, 86, of Westmoreland, WV, formerly of Michigan and Harts, WV, passed away on April 1, 2023 at his home. Bill was born December 26, 1936 in Harts, WV. He was an Army veteran. His family moved to Michigan in 1970. He worked at Dock Foundry as a Journeyman Millwright. He later started his own business before retiring in Huntington, WV. Bill enjoyed playing guitar, singing, collecting guns and knives and loved his family. Bill was known for his family stories and making people laugh. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Emzie Davis; mother, Clara Bell Davis; sister, Inez Orton; son, Billy Joe Davis Jr. and Nora Adkins Davis. He is survived by his sister, Orpha Martin of Huntington, WV; daughters, Terri Davis Steiner of Westmoreland, WV, Rebecca Chandler (Tim) of Charlotte, NC and John Davis of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Lee Kipp, Jamie Davis Kanusek, Sarah Sheteron (Llyod), Billie Davis, Jeffrey Steiner (Kelsi), Joseph Steiner (Kallie), Kody Chandler (Cassie), Ty Chandler and Rowan Davis; great grandchildren, James Tolbert II, Devin and Candice Kanusek, Landon Sheteron, Jaxson, Gracelynn, Hudson, Abigail and Capri Steiner and Pierce Chandler; great great grandchildren, Brayleigh, James and one on the way, Kye. The community is welcome to attend the services at Chapman Freewill Baptist Church 30 East Fork Rd, Harts WV 25524 at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 6, 2023. Pastor Joe Triplett will conduct the sermon. Bill's ashes will be buried next to his parents and son at the Davis Family Cemetery, Big Harts, WV with military graveside rites. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
