Brenda Gay Elliiott 1939 - 2017
Mrs. Brenda Gay Elliott, 77, of Proctorville, Ohio widow of Wilbur H. Elliott, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at The Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, WV. She was born August 26, 1939. She was a graduate of Hamlin High School and was the retired co-owner with Wilbur of Elliotts’ Gateway grocery store and Western Auto. Brenda was also preceded in death by her mother, Lillian M. Locke; and two grandsons, Bradley Ray and Seth Michael Elliott. She is survived by her only sibling, her sister, Rose A. (Norm) Johnson; three children, Deborah A. (David R.) Everett, William R. (Angie) Elliott and Bryan S. Elliott (Tarah Matney); one stepdaughter, Joyce A. Blazer; two grandchildren, Morgan E. Elliott and Johnathan S. Turley; many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as Jimmy and Micah Matney. Brenda also leaves her much-loved cat/companion, Charlie. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Rev. Brian Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
