Brian Scott Kearns' Obituary
Brian Scott Kearns, 51, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully, on January 3rd, 2025, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, surrounded by his children and loved ones. He was born June 19, 1973, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Charles and Mary Kearns. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother, Timothy Kearns, and a sister, Theresa Kearns. Brian is survived by two brothers, Jamie Kearns, and Darrel Kearns; five nephews, Coleton Brumfield, Kaiden, Gunner, Dj, and Derick Kearns. Brian was a loving father of six children, Andrew McGuire, Ryan Detamore, Colton Hardy, Arizona Kearns, Grayson Kearns and Hannah Kearns; stepfather to Elisabeth and Alex Cline; he was the best papaw and always said his grandchildren, Skylah, Taylynn, and Gabriel Detamore and Amelia Lambert, Kora Marcum, Maizley Roach, and Kash White were what kept him going. Brian attended Symmes Valley schools in Lawrence County, Ohio. He loved playing sports, especially football. He was always quick to crack a joke and was able to make anyone smile. He always loved to have a good time. He loved to cook, fish, play shuffleboard, and loved his chickens (if you know, you know). Brian was a hardworking man. He was talented at painting, carpentry, and plumbing. He was a jack of all trades until his health got in the way. Brian was an organ donor, and it gives us peace knowing he can help save people’s lives with what he could give. We love him dearly and will always cherish his memory. A celebration of Brian’s life will be announced at a later date. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements.
