Candy Lee Roby's Obituary
Candy Lee Roby, 76, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on April 7, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Ruth Best.
Candy dedicated her life to caring for others—both professionally and personally. She served the community through her work with SEOEMS and later retired from the Chesapeake School System, where she made a lasting impact as an Educational Assistant.
Creative, kind hearted, and endlessly patient, Candy filled her days with the quiet joys of life. She loved crocheting, knitting, sewing, and other handcrafts, and found great peace tending to her flowers and plants. An avid reader, she had a lifelong appreciation for books and learning.
Candy is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Phillip Cranston Roby; her sons, Alan Cranston Roby (Dawna) and Mark Andrew Roby (Haylia); and her beloved grandchildren, James, Memphis, Rowen, and step-grandchildren Alissa and Cass. She also leaves behind her cherished fur child, Gunner.
She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Lonnie Best (wife Dee), Chuck Best (wife Vet), Randy Best (wife Dee), and Ron Best; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Candy also held a special bond with former family member and dear friend, Donna Best.
In addition to her parents, Norman and Ruth, Candy was preceded in death by many loved ones whose memories she carried with her.
A celebration of Candy’s life will take place at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Ohio, on Friday, June 27, 2025. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 AM, with visitation for friends and the public starting at 11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM.
