Carl "Bernard" Baise, 87, born January 23, 1937 in Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away Sunday September 22, 2024 with his niece Crystal Ferguson-Goble and her family by his side at her home in Columbus, Ohio. The son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Baise and Gertie Mae Nicely of Chesapeake, Ohio,? He is preceded in death by eight brothers: Bo, Roy, Gary, Andy, Junior, Jerry Dan, James and Billy Joe; and three sisters Gloria, Betty Sue, and Joyce.? In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children Judy and Carl Jr. He is survived by one son, Scotty Baise, of Chicago, IL, whom he loved very much and took him to all the Indians home games when he was young; ?his niece Crystal Ferguson- Goble; two sisters Loretta Millard of Marysville, WA and Phyllis (Don) Wheeler of Painesville, Ohio; one brother Doug Baise of Chesapeake, OH; and a special friend that he played baseball with as a child and remained friends until the end, Roy Black.? He worked at SAS Rubber (Yokohama) for many years.? Later he moved back to Lawrence County, Ohio and finished his life journey here.? His story.... He was baptized in 1985 in the Ohio river. He loved to deer hunt and fish. He caught 73 fish in one day and a 37 ½ pound catfish another time. He always talked about the panther on the hillside, he threw a rock and hit a skunk it sprayed him and he had to leave school early. He enjoyed feeding chicken feet to Junebug, his niece's family dog and whistling with the family bird Twitter.?Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday September 30, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, Ohio.?Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday October 1, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory Proctorville, Ohio.?
