Carl Don Blankenship's Obituary

He was a proud Army veteran, serving from 1968 to 1970. He retired from ACF Industries after 34 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy McDonald and a special granddaughter, Toni Black. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Judith Mullins Blankenship; two daughters, Bobbi Hulett (Scott) and Lisa Browning (Kevin), and three sons, Dennis Blankenship (Meredith), Scott Blakenship, and Kevin Black (Vicki); one brother, Jackie Lee Blankenship (Belinda); sister-in-law, Debbie Farmer (Vernon); eight grandchildren, Will Blankenship, Barbi Ellsworth, Brandi Medors, Lily Blankenship, Todd Skaggs, Aaron Skaggs, Brett Black, and Ashlie Skaggs; eight great grandchildren, Cash, Cole, Freya, Alyssa, Gary, Jacob, Erin and Scarlett; three step grandsons, Luke Adkins and Jake Trent, and Zach Trent; two special family friends, Robert Pannell and Truman Chapman, his army buddy and friend; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center Neuro ICU for the love and compassion shown to him and our family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon’s to provide Bibles to share God’s love. The address is PO Box 140800 Nashville, TN 37214/0800. A graveside service and burial will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE, Grayson, KY with Pastor Harold Hamlin officiating.
