Carol Sue Hudson's Obituary
Carol Sue Hudson, 81, of Wurtland, KY, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Born on March 13, 1943, in Nevada, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Ora Bernard and Alice Fern Gragg Holland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hudson. Carol was a devout Christian and was a member of Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene in Huntington, WV. She grew up on a farm riding horses in Nevada, Missouri. In her younger years, she spent time in the traveling gospel group, The Singing Hollands, singing and playing piano. Carol was a detailed and organized yard sale enthusiast and planned major yard sale excursions. She loved to laugh, tell jokes, and enjoyed life. Carol liked to share stories about her travels and loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Tim (Cherri) Sewell, Cynthia Lyn Sewell, Wes (Marlena) Sewell, Phillip (Cathy) Hudson, Greg (Dean) Hudson, and Lynn (John) Gallaher; grandchildren, Anthony (Alicia) Sewell, Jennifer Sewell, Keri (Michael) Veazey, Cody (Destinee) Sewell, Abby Sewell, Wyatt Sewell, Jackson Sewell, Lucas Sewell, Adam Hudson, Emily (Drew) Hudson, Nicholas Gallaher, and Stephanie Gallaher; 9 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Liam, Bentlee, Aria, Joseph, Alex, Ezeekul, Braylin, Abigail, and her brother, Jim Holland. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Walnut Hills Church of the Nazarene in Huntington. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to services at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, Ohio, is assisting the family.
