Carolyn Sue Thomas' Obituary
Carolyn Sue Thomas, 73, of South Point, OH, passed away peacefully at Cornerstone Hospital, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, March 17, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Carolyn grew up in Proctorville, OH, and graduated from Fairland High School (Class of 1966) and Huntington Junior College of Business. She worked as a Rural Carrier with the United States Postal Service in Chesapeake, OH for many years and enjoyed spending time with her friends and her dog, Bentley. She especially loved her two grandchildren, Cody Stuckey and Abby Stuckey of Charleston, SC, who affectionately called her "Good Grandma". She also cared deeply for her close friend and neighbor, Brian Quick. Carolyn will be dearly missed and always remembered by those who knew her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Paul Edward Weisend of Proctorville, OH. She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Nicely of Proctorville, OH; her brother, Mike Weisend (Tammy) of Proctorville, OH; and her daughter, Terri Thomas Stuckey of Charleston, SC. She will leave behind three nieces: Jennifer Little, Stacie Weisend, and Taylor Weisend; as well as several grandnephews and grandnieces residing in Gallipolis, OH.
Carolyn's family requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We invite all of Carolyn's loved ones and friends of the family to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Hall Funeral Home on Sunday, March 20th. Drop in from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
The family would like to give special thanks to the medical staff and clergy at St.Mary's Medical Center and Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, WV.
