Charles Alfred Minor's Obituary
Charles Alfred Minor, 92, of Proctorville, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024, surrounded by his family. Charles was born on August 9, 1932, at Eccles, WV, son of the late Tivis Tipton Minor Sr. and Georgia Effie Hurley Minor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Minor; his brothers Les, Otis, Tippie, Jimmy, and Johnny Minor; and sisters Thelma Minor, Audrey Davis, Margie Prosser, Jean Chervenak, Nell Kidd, and Toni Perdue. He was a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God. He was a 1950 graduate of Man High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea, achieving the rank of Sergeant. Charles was a retired electrician with Local #317 IBEW, Huntington, WV. He was past Master of Proctorville Masonic Lodge 550 F & AM and member of VFW Post 6878 Proctorville. He is survived by three children, Alisa Raines of Proctorville, Ohio, Jeff Minor and his wife Christine of Proctorville, Ohio, and Kristi Christian of Crown City, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kyle Raines and his wife Megan, Kody Christian and his wife, Taylor, Rachel and Katherine "Kate" Minor; a sister Hazel Doss of Davin, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Greg Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, OH, with military rites held by Proctorville VFW Post #6878. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the funeral home with Masonic rites to be held at 7:30 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family at ehallfuneralhome.com.
