Charles Nichols 1931 - 2017
Charles "Charlie" Nichols, 86, of Chesapeake, Ohio passed peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 at home after a long battle with melanoma. This day also marked a very special time in their lives as they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. He was born on February 14, 1931 in Chesapeake, Ohio son of the late Denver and Esthel Moore Nichols. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marlene; one son Brian; and one daughter Valerie (Marvin) Moore; five grandchildren Derrick, Lindsey, Heather, Amy and Michael; six great grandchildren; two sisters Wanda and Naomi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Wilma. He retired from United Coal Company and Hall Funeral Home where he touched a multitude of lives with his friendliness and kindness. He was a member of Chesapeake United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with the service to follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Charles Case officiating. A private burial will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chesapeake United Methodist Church or Hospice of Huntington, WV.
