Charles E Thacker's Obituary
CHARLES E. THACKER, 74, of Chesapeake, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 7, 2015, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Adkins and Rev. Ross McCollum officiating. There will be a private burial in Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, OH. Charles was born May 24, 1941, in Cyrus, WV, a son of the late John Harrison and Catherine Elizabeth Meredith Thacker. He was a transportation supervisor at the Creasey Company in Kenova, WV, and SuperValu in Milton, WV, and retired after 46 years of service. He also attended the Chesapeake Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Thacker; his brother, Bobby Dale Thacker; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Imogene Sites. Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judith A. Sites Thacker; a daughter, Teresa Annette (Jim) Crum of Chesapeake, OH; a son, Charles J. "Joe" (Julie) Thacker of Ashland, KY; five grandchildren, Cheryl and Jeremiah Crum, and Jordan, Jacob, and Jillian Thacker; his sisters, Betty Haynie, Edra Selby, Helen (Charlie) Rickman, Katie (Larry) Brammer, and Elizabeth (Stan) Ewan; his brothers, Stanley Thacker and John (Sandy) Thacker; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Norma and Buford Love, Larry and Linda Sites, and David and Mary Sites. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. You may make contributions to Hospice of Huntington or Gideon's International in lieu of sending flowers.
