Charles Garner Wolfe's Obituary
CHARLES GARNER "CHARLIE" WOLFE, 91, of Chesapeake, OH, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Jones officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, OH. Charlie was born December 30, 1924, in Estill, KY, a son of the late Grover C. and Mary Kelly Wolfe. He was raised in Ironton, OH, retired as a Customer Service Representative from American Electric Power on January 1, 1987, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Meyers, Elisabeth Lewis, and Ethelene Leith; his nieces and nephews, Mary Ann Pemberton, Margie Meyers, and Randy and Glenn Lewis. Charlie is survived by his wife since August 7, 1948, Sally Gore Wolfe; two sons, Charles (Marcia) Wolfe, Jr., and Kenneth (Karen) Wolfe; four grandchildren, Wendi Goodall, Bradric Wolfe, Jay Wolfe, and Michelle Dwertman; a special great granddaughter, Megan Godfrey; five additional great grandchildren, Torin, Gavin, and Nolan Wolfe, and Reese and Coen Dwertman; and nieces and nephews, Kay Hall, Barbara Lewis, Martha Meyers, and Robert and O.C. Leith. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
