Christine 'Cookie' Spurlock Scarberry's Obituary
Christine "Cookie" Spurlock Scarberry, 74, of Proctorville, Ohio entered into the arms of her heavenly Father on Monday, January 20, 2020 at her home with her family by her side. She was born March 29, 1945 in Huntington, WV daughter of the late Manford "Mink" and Genevieve Mount Spurlock from Scottown, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son Judson Howard Myers; her loving husband of 29 years Raymond Scott Scarberry; very best friend and sister Joyce Watson of Willow Wood, Ohio; and her brother Howard Spurlock of Scottown, Ohio. She was a member of Rose of Sharon Church and loved everyone there, but most of all she loved and longed to see her Savior Jesus! She is survived by four daughters whom worshipped the ground she walked on, Sherri (Allen) Dennison, Christy Myers (Candice Adkins), and Cheryl (Randy) Clay all of Proctorville, Ohio, and Sheila (Johnnie) Johnson of Flatwoods, KY; three sons Dwayne (Anita) Scarberry of Scottown, Ohio, Steve Scarberry of Glenwood, WV and Raymond Scott Scarberry I of Barboursville, WV; fourteen grandkids who was the light of her world, Adam (Tonya) Myers of Willow Wood, Ohio, Elizabeth (Timmy) Wentz of Proctorville, Ohio, Nataisha (Travis) Martin of Sorrento, Fl., Destinee Pauley and fiancee Shawn Cremeans of South Point, Ohio, Martika Brizendine and fiancee Joe Comer of Huntington, WV, Jennifer (Tony) Lee of Scottown, Ohio, Kendall Clay, Tina Turner, Akrista Burks and Xander Leary all of Proctorville, Ohio, Jordan, Trenton, Jesse and Steven Scarberry, Raymond Scott Scarberry III of Barboursville, WV, Brandon and Candy Scarberry of Barboursville, WV, Sara and Cory Mundell of Barboursville, WV, Scarlett and Luke Short of Barboursville, WV; great grandkids Kian Martin of Sorrento, FL, Haley, Madison, Paislee and Easton Myers all of Willow Wood, Ohio, Laila and Xavier Wentz of Proctorville, Keegan and Knox Clay of Proctorville, Bryer and Braxton Lee of Scottown, Ohio, Morgan and Nila of Proctorville, Ohio; brother Donnie and Joann Spurlock of Scottown, Ohio; two nieces Donna Jo Spurlock (Cecil) Phillips of Hillsboro, NC and Jennifer Spurlock of Scottown, Ohio; two nephews Danny (Autumn) Spurlock of Hillsboro, NC and Jimmy (Sabrina) Watson of Willow Wood, Ohio; and four very close friends that she loved dearly Geneva Willoughby, Joyce Maynard, Nell Christian and Mary Christian. She also had a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that she truly loved. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio with Pastor Gordon Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Willow Wood, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the funeral home.
