Clara Jean Fitzpatrick's Obituary
Clara Jean Fitzpatrick of South Point, OH (08/07/1938-03/17/2024) daughter of Lamech Bennett Elmore and Hattie Lou Bancroft was called to rest Sunday, March 17, 2024. She was preceeded in death by her loving parents, husband Paul David Fitzpatrick, daughter Tammie Mae Fitzpatrick, brother Ralph Elmore, and sister Mattie Smith. Lovingly known as Mom, Mamaw, Mammie, Aunt Clara, or simply Clara Jean. She was a devoted member of the Ashland Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Some may know her as the accordion champion she once was. Some may know her as a caring ward clerk at the VA. Some may just know her from her selflessness. All who knew her loved her. She had a knack for seeing the beauty in things. She was a lover of all living things; anyone or anything needing cared for found its way to her. She loved the outdoors and caring for others. She was not one to brag, but she deserves credit for raising or helping raise countless people. She was selfless and kind. She loved to dance and sing. She also loved drawing and being creative. The thing that made her happiest was being Mamaw to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had such an imagination. She loved making up stories and games with the kids. She was a storyteller and tradition keeper. She was very proud to be part of the Missionettes program with two of her closest friends, Nancy and McCletta in the ASDA Church. Clara leaves behind a large family, which is what she cherished most on this Earth. This includes her Aunt Bonnie Mae Fitzpatrick; brothers Jimmy Elmore (Laura) and Mickey Elmore (Cherie); her children Paula Fitzpatrick-Morris (Gary), Davey Fitzpatrick (Jessie), Dean Gully, and Kirby Fitzpatrick (Lisa); her grandchildren Jamie Louden (Kevin), Robbi Johnson, Charlie Morris (Kayla), Marissa Walls, Josh Force, her most precious Macie Joy Frye, Clara Jessica Poling (Kenneth) and Brayden Andrew Fitzpatrick. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren Ivy Lynn Louden, Kylah Jean Blue, and Mason Colt Louden, who she lovingly called her boy. She also leaves behind a number of friends and family, including Geneva Poling. Genny was so loved by her Aunt Clara. Clara loved her animals fiercely. Her precious Jasper, Sunni, Beetlejuice, Kiko, Sable, Moonbeam, Mochi, Mystic, and Rockette will miss her dearly. She spoiled every one of them rotten. She cherished the friendships she gained within her church family, especially Nancy, McCletta, Ben and Sally. If you knew her, you knew of her love for music, especially Willie Nelson. Clara was the most perfect and precious piece amongst a wildly imperfect bunch. Her love never wavering. Her prayers never ceasing. Her faith never shaken. It was her love and prayers that carried her loved ones through the darkest of times. In each and every one of her loved ones, you'll find a piece of her, and that was her greatest accomplishment. She was a remarkable woman and will be greatly missed.-What you leave as a legacy is not what is etched in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.
A celebration of life service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Seventh Day Adventist Church 4009 Hart Street Ashland, KY 41101. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
