Dara Mae Gorby's Obituary
Dara M. Gorby, 78, of Proctorville, Ohio passed away Tuesday April 30, 2024 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born February 25, 1946 in Beaver, WV to the late Jesse Raymond and Anna Florence Bragg Goodson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Gorby and three siblings Robert Goodson, Tom Goodson, Janet Rose. She is survived by eight children David Curry (Sonja), Donna Cox (David), Daniel Sowards (Meghan), Sierra Sowards (Virgil), Sarah Sowards (Daron), Rosie Mannon (Marshall), Cristy Pruitt, and Grace Esque; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; eight siblings Thelma Allen, Karen Donat, Randy Goodson, Larry Goodson, Naomi Ayers, Mary Lou Redden, Connie Roberts, and Donzie Goodson; and a special family friend Tori Talton. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday May 5, 2024 at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio. Visitation will be held 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday May 5, 2024 at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
