Darlene "Dee Dee" Carter's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Darlene “Dee Dee” Carter, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt and friend, who departed this life suddenly on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the age of 70. Her radiant spirit, boundless compassion, and unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on June 6, 1955, in Ironton, Ohio, to the late William and Mildred Carter, Dee Dee was a true daughter of the community. She was affectionately known throughout the town for her infectious warmth and a generosity of spirit that knew no bounds. She was, without question, a shining light, consistently radiating kindness, laughter, and an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel cherished and understood. Her journey through life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of deep love, joyful laughter, profound empathy, and a steadfast devotion to her faith in God. Her departure leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, her wide circle of friends, and the countless individuals whose lives she enriched. Dee Dee was preceded in death by her devoted parents, William and Mildred Carter, and her beloved brother, William (Chico) Carter Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two beautiful and loving daughters, Marnie and Alexa Carter, both of Ironton, Ohio, who were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her twin brother, Dennis Carter (Jan), of Ironton, Ohio; her sister, Dawn Campbell (Eugene), of Ironton, Ohio; and her brother, Robert Carter (bob bettle) also of Ironton, Ohio. Dee Dee’s legacy of love extends to her four precious grandchildren Mackenzie Carter, Cameron Schob, Elijah Carter and Elena Mcquaig who were the absolute highlight of her existence, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored and nurtured as if they were her own children. Her expansive family also includes a host of cherished cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of whom shared in her magnificent, joyful spirit. Dee Dee’s home was a true haven, always open and filled with the warmth of her hospitality, where everyone was welcomed with open arms. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Christ Temple Church, Ashland, KY.
