David Mark Arbogast's Obituary
David "Mark" Arbogast, 57, of Rush, Kentucky, formerly of Barboursville, WV and Huntington, WV went to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.
Mark was born November 27, 1964, in Huntington, WV to William David Arbogast and the late Karen Walker Ellis.
He is preceded in death by his mother, and by his grandparents Donald W. and Thelma Walker and Bill and Thelma Jo Arbogast.
Surviving him is his father David (Judy) Arbogast, and his children, Mark Tyler (RoseAnn "Annie") Arbogast, Lori Jo Arbogast, Kayla Ratcliff, and his wife/caregiver, Karen Ratcliff all of Huntington, WV. He also leaves behind his sisters Lori (Fred) Spears of Port Richey, Florida; Kim (Lee) Henry of Lesage, WV; Billie Garrett of Parkersburg, WV; brothers Billy and David Arbogast of Huntington, and his best friend since childhood, John Hardiman of Prichard, WV. Mark had six grandchildren: William Owen and Raelynn Arbogast, Isaiah Derek and Jeffrey Alexander Beavers, Benjamin Aaron Keeney, and Aquillo DesChain Adkins (lil Willie). He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mark worked as a Mate for Ingram Barge Company for many years, a job he was very proud of. He also worked for area contractors over the years in which he showed his talent for woodworking and his attention to detail. He was very particular about his work.
Mark loved his family, his friends, Harley Davidson motorcycles, fishing, living in the country and more importantly his Lord. Our hearts are comforted in knowing he is in a better place with family members who have gone on before. We rejoice in the fact that we will see him again someday. And Mark, we want you to know that the scooper and Karen are in a safe place.
Funeral services will take place at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio on Monday, August 1 with visitation at 7:00 p.m. and a memorial service at 8:00 p.m. Pastor Donald W. Walker (Mark's uncle) will officiate.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Community Hospice for their excellent care of Mark in his last days. Your kindness and compassion are so very much appreciated.
