David Willard Judd's Obituary
David Willard Judd, 80, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Proctorville, OH, passed away January
21, 2025, at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice. He was born September 3, 1944, in Huntington,
WV. He is preceded in death by Willard Earl Judd (father), Eloise Kaiser Judd (mother), and
Julie Judd (sister). He is survived by his two daughters, Amy Carroll (Erik) of Cape Coral, FL
and Allison Bryan (Robert) of Oklahoma City, OK; four grandchildren, Emily Carroll, Zoe Carroll,
Parker Bryan and Addyson Bryan; seven brothers, John, George, Frederick, Stephen, Phillip,
Jeffery and James (Jimmy); and many nieces and nephews. David dedicated his life to education. For over 40 years, he served as a teacher, principal, and board member in the Fairland Local School District, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues. He was known for his ability to connect with students and being a big kid at heart, he fit perfectly in the halls of Fairland High School where he was very loved. David also began a career as a tax preparer in 1970 and served his clients for over five decades, earning him the nickname “Dollar Dave”. Family was paramount to David. He loved his children
and grandchildren fiercely and unconditionally, relishing every opportunity to brag on them to
friends and strangers alike. David was the New York Yankees' number one fan, an avid coin
collector, and political activist. He had a great ability to make others laugh with a joke and his
sense of humor will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David’s memory to Mid-Western Children’s Home (www.mid-western.org). A memorial service celebrating David's life will be held at Fairland High School in Proctorville, OH on June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio is assisting the family with local arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
