David Lee Spurlock's Obituary
David Lee Spurlock, 80, of Proctorville, OH, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. David was born July 3, 1946, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Earl Morris and Carrie Avis Baumgardner Spurlock. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired salesman from Ohio Valley Wholesale. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, strength, and courage touched everyone who knew him. David found his greatest happiness surrounded by those he loved and he cherished every moment. He took pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and treasured every family gathering, conversation, and memory made together. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Earl Spurlock and Fred Ray Spurlock, and son-in-law Bob Dingess. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Marie Spurlock, two daughters, Nicole Dingess of Ona, WV and Sarah Elizabeth Bias (Mike) of Huntington, three sisters, Janet Marie (Daniel) Barela of Huntington, Evelyn Joan (Roger) Miller of St. Louis, MO, and Karen Diane (Larry) King of Hamlin, WV, one sister-in-law, Glenda Spurlock of Wheelersburg, OH, and three grandchildren: Sydney Dingess Carey (Dylan), Jaxon Rayce Bias, and Layne Michael Bias. Funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home & Crematory in Proctorville with Rodney Carter officiating. Burial will be in Rome-Proctorville Cemetery.
