David Wayne Stevenson's Obituary
David was born in Huntington, WV, on January 30, 1953. In October 1971 he married the love of his life, Brenda Gale Powers, to whom he was married for an amazing 52 years which were full of traveling, raising his girls, spending time with his grandchildren, and taking care of his beloved dog, Jasmine. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devout Christian and people looked forward to seeing his smiling face every Sunday morning at New Baptist Church. He graduated from Huntington East High School in 1971 before entering the US Air Force where he served for four years. He also attended Marshall University receiving a bachelor's degree in business while working for the United States Postal Service where he retired after 26 years. David is preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Morrison Stevenson and father, William Earl Stevenson. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gale Stevenson of Proctorville, OH; two daughters and their husbands, Jessica and Dr. Erick Willis and Dr. Kara and Travis Smith, all of Barboursville WV; four wonderful grandchildren, Evan and Abby Willis, and Kennedy and Abram Smith. Several nephews, cousins, and many friends remain to mourn his passing. A visitation is scheduled on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH from 6-8 pm. Funeral services begin on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Hall Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Burial services will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, West Virginia.
