I am saddened by the loss of my friend. We spent so much time together during high school and shared an apartment during college. We shared drivng to classes in my old 55 chevy. One day we heard a knock on the door, and Freddy arrived in a new bright blue Chevy II. Dave was so happy and proud. Another day, he came back from class and said I met the most beautiful girl (Carol) and going to ask her out. I remember the times we would each take $5 and go grocery shopping. I think this helped us learn the value of a dollar.
After college we went our own ways. While living in Columbus, he called and invited me to vacation in his condo in Ft. Myers. That is how I got to Ft. Myers. Each time he came to visit we spent time together, talking about our lives. In fact, we made a pact, that when either of us died, not to worry about attending a funeral. This was because we "gave our flowers and respect" while we were living. Like my other good friend Sam indicated, I could write a book about the times I spent with Dave. Carol knows many of our stories together, and I prey for her and family in this great loss. Allen Frey (bud)
Condolences on the passing of Dave. Growing up on Dean Street, Dave took us kids to many sporting events including the Cincinnati Reds. We had great childhood memories together. Dave was a hero to many, especially his son Michael.

We knew Dave as students at Coal Grove many years ago, but we became reacquainted a couple years ago when we moved to Ironton and became neighbors. He welcomed us into the neighborhood and made us feel at home. We'll miss our front yard visits. Dave was a good man with a good heart. Prayers for his family.
Another one of those men who shaped our young lives has left us. They get the name and position of "coach" and "teacher", but their love, personalities, and caring for us kids made them so much more. They gave us skills and knowledge, helped guide us into being men and women, and good people. Coach Waller has always and will always be with us in our memories and hearts, but also in everything we do and all that he helped us become in our lives.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
