Dean Arthur Montroso's Obituary
Dean Arthur Montroso, 49, of South Point, Ohio passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 at his home. He was born January 21, 1971 in Ironton, Ohio son of Phil and Joy Montroso also of South Point, Ohio. He was the father of Savannah Montroso of Ironton, Ohio and the ex-husband of Heather Montroso Williams, whom he was married to for 12 years. He is also survived by one sister Sherry Montroso Stidham and her husband Donnie Stidham; niece Kelsea Stidham; nephew Joey Stidham; uncles Duke Hatfield, David Hatfield and John Irvin Hatfield; aunts Diane Nance, Paula Hatfield and Betty Ann Montroso; special cousins Trisha and Susan Nance, Danny Montroso, Robbie Montaudo, Scott Hutchinson, John Ferrell, Jr, Ernie Montroso, Jimmy Montroso, Nancy Vanhoose, Karen Shope and Arthur Scarvelli and family; special friends Shannon York, Chuck Schob, Jack and Rick Harris, Freddie Hayes, Jr and family, Chris Collier and family, Patty, Shirley and Claire, Rusty Eaton and family, Danny Jones and family, Angie and Barry Pelphrey (New Beginnings), Mike Hurley and family, Dan Ferguson and family, Phil Jarvis, Kevin and Brenda McMillian and family, Donna McKenzie and family, all of his friends and family at STAR; Marshall Daniels and family, Mike Finley and family; and many many more. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Arthur and Betty Lou Montroso, owners and operators of Montrosos Fruit Farm for over 50 years; maternal grandparents John and Pauline Hatfield; uncles Larry Nance, Rocky Montroso, Danny "Bubby" Hatfield, Steve Montroso; best friends Rowdy Yates and Gary Bowman. He was of Christian faith. He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1989 where he loved playing baseball. He was the owner and operator of Montroso Concessions. Dean was very kind, caring and would help anyone in need. Dean had a passion for fishing and squirrel hunting. He loved to cook the fish that he caught and the squirrels that he shot, with the herbs and vegetables from his own garden. It was always a delicacy that the whole family admired. He was also an avid music lover and would often times sit with his earbuds in his ears while sunbathing. He was known for his quick wit which would often times coincide with his famous sense of humor. He had an infectious smile that would light up any room and he was the life of the party and no party will ever be the same. Private family services will be held.
