Delbert O Topping's Obituary
On November 9, 2015, DELL TOPPING, 77, of Chesapeake, Ohio, received perfect healing as he walked through the gates of Heaven to meet his Lord and Savior. He has won his twenty-one year battle with Parkinson's Disease and is rejoicing with the Lord. Dell was born in Hamlin, WV to the late Raxine Topping. He was a standout athlete in football, basketball and baseball at Hamlin High School. He graduated in 1956 and spent a year at Marshall University studying education until he took a job as a Locomotive Engineer at CSX, where he worked for thirty five years. In the years following his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's Medical Center. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sonia Bias. Dell is survived by his devoted daughter and caregiver Suzanne Hall, her husband John and their children, Christian and Allison; his step-daughter, Angie McClure Gentry. He is also survived by two additional daughters, Dreama Duke of Louisiana and Leslye Bishop of Mississippi and their children, Justin, Josh, Adam, Whitney and Westin; his sister, Sandy Phillips of Hurricane, WV; his brother, Jim Murrell of Phoenix, AZ; as well as his nieces and nephews.
