Delmer Joe Arthur's Obituary
Joe Arthur, 71, of South Point, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, KY. He was born March 5, 1950, in Huntington, WV son of the late Ruby "Sis" and Clay Arthur. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Clay "Buddy" Arthur. Joe is survived by a son Stephen (Rebecca) Arthur and a daughter Elizabeth (Charles) Braithwaite; two brothers, Bill (Corky) Perry and Mickey Arthur; a very special companion, Jeannie Silva; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He attended Marshall University and retired from CSX. Joe was an Airborne Ranger U.S. Army Veteran, and a purple heart and bronze star recipient. Funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, Ohio. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. American Legion Post 93 will conduct military graveside rites and WVARNG will do the flag presentation. Visitation will be held 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the funeral home.
