Delsie Fay Watson's Obituary
Delsie Sullivan Watson, 95, of Scottown went to sleep here on earth on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 and awoke in the Arms of Jesus.Delsie was born on September 22, 1928 in Huntington, WV to the late Elgie and Ruth Sullivan. She was married to Rev. Cleo Watson on August 11, 1947. They were married for 68 years before he preceded her in death on March 22, 2016. They had two sons, Donnie Watson and Danny Watson also deceased. Great granddaughter, Ruby Gracyn Johnson, also preceded her.
Surviving is a daughter, Peggy (Darren) Shobe of Lavalette, WV, granddaughter, Kacey (Ben), of Wayne; grandson, Jay Watson of New Port Richey, Fl; grandsons ,Chris Shobe of Chesapeake, OH and Kevin Shobe (Victoria) of Huntington, WV; great grandsons, Lincoln Johnson, Max Johnson of Wayne, and Christian Watson (Laura) of Huntington WV. In addition, survivors include great granddaughter, Caroline Shobe of Chesapeake and great grandson, Brendan Shobe of Huntington.
Delsie worked for 35 years as a cook for the Symmes Valley School district and she loved her job. She would still proudly say "I served them lunch". She also loved music and her favorite place to sing was in the choir at Ceredo Christian Baptist church, of which she was a member. She loved her family and never failed to miss a birthday or a holiday to remember them. She will be missed here on Earth, but we know that she is finally Home and we will one day join her and Cleo in Heaven." I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake, OH and officiated by brother Phillip Stapleton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Perkins Ridge Cemetery in Willow Wood, OH. Hall Funeral Home and Schneider-Hall Funeral Home are honored to assist the family with arrangements.
